"Music creates order out of chaos: for rhythm imposes unanimity upon the divergent, melody imposes continuity upon the disjointed, and harmony imposes compatibility upon the incongruous."

-Yehudi Menuhin, Violinist

I truly believe through education, teachers have the ability to make the vital and necessary changes we need to see in our communities through educating our students. Teachers do so much more that teach their subject areas. It is in the classroom where students learn how to handle themselves in society. As a music teacher, I have the chance to work with the same students for multiple years. Students learn how to contribute to a group and understand how their roll fits in with their peers. They learn the responsibility of being a small piece to a larger picture, while still understanding how important they are. I am able to see the growth in them over the years and am constantly humbled by their sincerity and intelligence. Each student however needs to be seen as an individual with different needs and concerns. Too many time students get lost in the masses and do not get the support they truly need. Education and music are the heart and soul that builds the foundation for productive members of society.
